Focus and Scope
The journal publishes the results of the original fundamental and applied investigations in Earth Sciences (geology, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrology, volcanology, seismology), that were not published or send for editing and further publication in other Russian and foreign journals.
The journal contains not only research articles but also information on: the modern state of geosciences development in the region, the main scientific events in the region (conferences, meetings, seminars, expeditions, field schools).

Peer Review Process
The Journal is a scholarly peer-reviewed publication. Publication fees are not charged and author's royalty is not paid by the Journal. Manuscripts are not handed back to the authors.
All papers to be published in the following sections are the subject of peer review by two reviewers: Scientific Papers, Brief Notes, Papers of Young Scientists, Discussions, History. The Editorial Board provides the authors of the reviewed papers the copies of the reviews. The Editorial Board decides to approve or reject papers based on the reviews and scholarly importance of the submitted works. The original reviews must retain at the editorial office for 5 years.

Open Access Policy
Bulletin of Kamchatka Regional Association «Educational-Scientific Center». Earth Sciences is an open access journal. All articles are made freely available to readers immediatly upon publication.
Our open access policy is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition - it means that articles have free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.
Editorial Policy
The Journal is aimed at integration of Russian academic and industrial science, as well as exchange of current scientific achievements between scientists and researchers in the field of Earth sciences from various countries. The Journal seeks to provide high scientific quality and typography of the published papers and follows ethical norms of scientific publications.
General Journal management including editorial politics is the responsibility of the Editorial Board of the Journal headed by the Editor-in-Chief.
The Editorial Board consists of the leading experts in the fields of the Journal Scope.
The Editor-in-Chief, as well as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Executive Secretary are selected on meetings of the Editorial Board, which is eligible if selected by at least half of the members of the Editorial Board.
The contents of each issue are approved by the Editorial Board and the Editor-in-Chief. During the time when the Editor-in-Chief is away, this is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief's responsibility.
The Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chiefs and Executive Secretary organize the work with authors, reviewers, technical staff of the editorial office, various libraries, printing office and organizations that distribute the Journal.
The online version of the Journal is maintained by the webmaster and is organized by the Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chiefs and Executive Secretary.
Publication Ethics
The Editor-in-Chief, members of the Editorial Board, authors, and reviewers follow the ethical norms which include the following.
The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board members:
- provide an unbiased, objective consideration of the submitted manuscripts, comply with editorial independence and respect for the rights of authors;
- publish the papers based on their scientific value and novelty, irrespective of the author' place of employment and residence, their religious ethnic, and political affiliation;
- when taking decision whether or not to publish the submitted manuscripts, follow the Journal politics, preventing from publishing the papers containing any plagiarism, infringement of copyright and abusive comments;
- do not accept and consider any papers falling outside the scope of the Journal or containing data violating the legislation of the Russian Federation and departmental regulations;
- do not publish the papers that has been already published in other journals or by other publishers;
- do not publish papers that do not contain any new information and results compared to the previous publications;
- protect the confidentiality of the authors' manuscripts;
- select the reviewers from among the highly qualified experts in the scientific field corresponding to the submission;
- when selecting the reviewers, avoid the known or expected conflict of interests which might lead to biased evaluation of the manuscript;
- hold confidential the names of the reviewers unless granted a permission;
- do not consider each ethical claim regarding submitted or published papers;
The Editorial Board reserves the right to suspend cooperation with authors who violate the ethical norms of the Journal.
The reviewers, by accepting the invitation to review the manuscript, agree:
- in the case of the conflict of interests or if this conflict is revealed in the course of reviewing, to resign immediately reviewing the manuscript;
- to consider the submitted manuscripts in unbiased and objective manner and in timely manner;
- not to disclose the information on the materials submitted to the Journal;
- to report the revealed facts of plagiarism and infringement of copyright, as well as repeated submission of the material that has been already published in another journals;
The authors, upon submitting the papers:
- take full responsibility for the reliability and validity of the presented materials and avoid plagiarism (intentional or non-intentional);
- avoid multiple submission/publication of the same manuscripts;
- give proper references to the previous publications, databases, and other sources of information used in the manuscript;
- give proper references in the List of References;
- include in the list of the authors all the persons substantially contributed to the study and do not include those who were not involved in the study;
- refer to all sources of financial support that contributed into investigations;
- timely, correctly, and ad rem reply to the reviewers' comments and recommendations arising at the stage of manuscript editing and preparation of the artwork;
- inform the Journal Editorial Board on the errors detected in the submitted or published materials and provide the appropriate corrections whenever possible;
- should a third party detect an error, the author must correct this error immediately or prove the absence of the error.
