The long-term data obtained from observations of the dynamics of underground water in Kamchatka permits conducting analyses of hydrological and geochemical factors preceded large earthquakes (magnitude M≥6.0, epicentral distance S≤350 km). The paper considers methods of data pre-processing and retrospective identification of anomalous variations in chemical and gas composition of underground water. Morphological analysis of the hydrogeochemical effects revealed the most likely precursors of large seismic events.

Keywords: hydrogeochemistry, earthquake, precursor, classification.
