Аннотация

Сделан обзор исследований, выполненных при изучении подводных оползней Норвежско-Шпицбергенской и Канадско-Аляскинской континентальных окраин с описанием их основных характеристик и выделением обстановок, в которых эти образования пользуются широким распространением. В отсутствии данных по оползневым процессам на континентальных окраинах российского сектора Арктики были рассмотрены условия окружающей среды благоприятные для образования подводных оползней и включающие в себя наклонное дно, быстрое формирование осадочного чехла и дополнительные геологические нагрузки (триггерные механизмы). В результате анализа были выделены области, где может происходить обрушение склона с образованием подводных оползней. Эти области включают в себя окраинные желоба и их конуса выноса в Карском море, бровку шельфа, склон и широкое континентальное подножье в море Лаптевых.
