Tolbachik lava field

 

Upper part of the soil-pyroclastic succession at the western slope of Tolbachik lava field. Light-colored regional marker tephra layers separate cinder horizons from local cones. Marker tephra layers: SH2 (~950 yr BP) and SH3 (~1400 yr BP) from Shiveluch volcano and KS1 (~1800 yr BP) from Ksudach volcano.
