Shiveluch

 

 

 

Upper part of the soil-pyroclastic sequence about 15 km southeast of Shiveluch volcano. Tephra layers record intense explosive activity of the volcano. Marked in white are the following marker ash layers from Shiveluch: 1964, from the 1964 eruption; SH1, ab.250 years B.P.; SH2, ab.950 years B.P.; SH3, fall and flow units, ab.1400 years B.P.  KS1 is a marker ash from Ksudach volcano, ab.1800 years B.P.
