Krasheninnikov volcano

 

Krasheninnikov volcano from northeast. Northern cone of the volcano has a large summit caldera, which formed about 2000 yrs BP as a response to outpouring of voluminous andesitic lava flows. The caldera encloses a small stratovolcano, which started to form about 1300 yrs BP. The explosive crater of this stratovolcano hosts a small dacitic lava cone formed few hundreds of years ago.
