Koshelev-Kambalny saddle

Ash layers were deposited in a small lake and that is why they are slightly reworked by water. They are interlayered with lacustrine and (at the top) with eolian deposts, which formed after the lake had dried up. This sequence overlies cinders from Kambalny and Koshelev volcanoes and corresponds to the last 5500-6000 14C years. Marker ashes: KSht1(1000 yrs BP) - from Ksudach volcano (Shtyubel' Cone); KHD (2500 yrs BP) from Khodutkinsky crater; DG II (4300 yrs BP) from Dikii Greben' volcano. A tape is marked in 20-cm intervals.
