Dikii Greben'

 

Dikii Greben’ volcano seen from northeast, across Ozernaia river. Mt. Nepriyatnaya (summit of the volcano) is at the right. Lava domes and huge landslide blocks from Mt. Nepriyatnaya form a chain going to the left, towards the Kurile Lake. The upper terrace closer to us is composed of the Kurile Lake caldera ignimbrite (7600 yrs BP).  Two lower ones correspond to different levels of the Kurile Lake. The houses are located on the lowest terrace with an age of ab. 1300 14C yrs BP.
