Avachinsky

 

Pyroclastic flow deposits in a valley south of Avachinsky volcano. Lower yellow deposit contains andesitic pumiceous material, while upper black one – basaltic andesitic scoria. These two deposits belong to different periods of the volcano's life: first “andesitic” period lasted from 7250 to 3500 14C years BP, second, “basaltic andesitic” period – from 3500 14C years BP till nowadays.
