Kireunsky lava flow

Kireunsky lava flow seen from the east. The flow originates from a vent on the Pleistocene lava plateau and goes down for ~9 km to the Pravaia Kirevna River valley. Thickness of the lava flow ranges from 100 m near the source to 20-60 m in the middle part and to 60-80 m in the most distal part. The eruption took place ~2.6 14C ka BP, immediately after the eruption of the Levaia Belaia River lava flow. Kireunsky products are medium-K andesite.
