Hazard synopsis
There are possibly explosive and explosive-effusive eruptions of the volcano. The volcano could constitute a potential hazard to international and low-flying aircraft.

Ash falls possible at: Paratunka (90 km to the south-west from the volcano) Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (70 km to the south-south-west) Yelizovo (70 km to the south-west)

Satellite monitoring.
Form and structure
This is a complex volcano edifice, composed of four merged cones of stratovolcanoes of similar ages and structures.
Volcanic activity
Historic eruptions are associated with the third cone.

A fumarolic activity of the volcano is observing at present.
Location
Zhupanovsky volcanic ridge frames the Nalychevo Valley from the north. Its located about 40 km to the north from Avachinsky and Koryaksky volcanoes.
Composition
Basalts, andesibasalts, andesites, dacites.

Upper Pleistocene-Holocene
