Hazard synopsis
There are possibly explosive and explosive-effusive eruptions of the volcano a like as volcanoes if Iceland. It will be restricted to the caldera glacier (the volume of ice is 5 km3) with possible formation of meltwater within the caldera, which may trigger catastrophic floods down the valley of the Kamchatka river along the dry rivers of Bil’chenok, Ryborazvodnaya, Kozyrevskaya, Studenaya and Sukhaya.
The volcano could constitute a potential hazard to international and low-flying aircraft.

Form and structure
Ushkovsky and Krestovsky volcanoes form a single volcanic massif with a summit caldera which filled with glacier.
Volcanic activity
1890
April 20, 1980 - the fumarolic activity was first registered at the volcanic summit. There were hot patches of total 5000 sq. m were discovered in 1983 -1984.
Location
The volcano is located in the north-western part of the Klyuchevskaya group of the volcanoes.
Composition
Basalts and andesibasalts.
Age
50-60 thousand years ago.
