Hazard synopsis
Potential hazards are ash plumes, ash falls, pyroclastic and lava flows and lahars. Possible lateral eruptions can also take place on the volcanic slopes or at the southern part of caldera.

Form and structure
The complex volcanic edifice consisting of two merged cones is in ancient collapsed caldera about 9 km in diameter. Northern cone has telescopic structure - in the center caldera about 2 km in diameter are located two cones enclosed each other. Height of least of them - 150 m, diameter of its crater - 60 m.
Volcanic activity
The last lava effusion took place 400-600 years ago. No historic eruption is known. In 1963 traces of fumarolic activity were registered in the crater of the middle Northern cone.
Location
The volcano is associated with the Eastern volcanic belt and is located about 13 km south of Kronotsky lake, in 200 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
