Hazard synopsis
There are possibly explosive and explosive-effusive eruptions of the volcano. There is possible catastrophic eruption with a destruction of a north-western sector of the volcano. The volcano could constitute a potential hazard to international and local airlines at Kamchatka.

Form and structure
Stratovolcano, the open crater 45x90 m is located at the western part of the summit. Scoria cones: two at the eastern and three at the southern flanks of the volcano.

1956, December - 1957, March – weak explosive eruption
2008, December - 2009 – an intensification of the volcano

Volcano is located to the northwest from Avachinsky volcano, at a distance of 30 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
