Severo-Kurilsk (80 km to the north-east from the volcano)
Ozernovskiy (155 km to the north- northeast)

Form and structure
The stratovolcano is the correct strongly truncated cone with a crater (in diameter up to 700 m and depth up to 300 m) at the top.

1854 – strong explosive eruption
1969, 1978, 1981, 1982, 2004 (fumarolic activity)
Location
The volcano forms a separate peninsula at Southwest coast of Paramushir Island, it is located in 80 km to the southwest from Severo-Kurilsk.
