Principal hazards are ash plumes, ash falls, lava and pyroclastic flows, hot avalanches and lahars.

Ash falls possible at:

Pauzhetka (20 km to the north from the volcano)
Ozernovskiy (30 km to the northwest)
Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (230 km to the northeast)
