Moderate potential hazards are caused by ash plumes, ash falls, pyroclastic flows, hot avalanches and lahars.
The volcano constitutes a potential hazard to international and local airlines at Kamchatka because its eruptive clouds can rise to a height of 8-15 km a.s.l. and extend for hundreds of kilometers from the volcano to different directions.
Ash falls possible at:
Klyuchi (40 km to the north-northeast from the volcano)
Kozyrevsk (47 km to the west-northwest)
Ust’-Kamchatsk (125 km to the north-east)
Ust’-Khairyuzovo (290 km to the north-west)
Ichinsky (315 km to the west-southwest) |
