(11) Volcanic Activity Summary: | Explosive eruption of the volcano began on January 01, 2015 and continues. Strombolian and Vulcanian activity of the volcano continues. According to video data, explosions send ash up to 5-6 km a.s.l., sometimes up to 7 km a.s.l. According to video and satellite data, probably a lava flow began to move on the southern flank of the volcano. Moderate explosive eruption of the volcano continues. Ash explosions up to 26,240-32,800 ft (8-10 km) a.s.l. could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft. |
