(1) VOLCANO OBSERVATORY NOTICE FOR AVIATION (VONA)
 (2) Issued:20140123/0417Z
 (3) Volcano:Gorely (CAVW #1000-07-)
 (4) Current Aviation Color Code:GREEN
 (5) Previous Aviation Color Code:green
 (6) Source:KVERT
 (7) Notice Number:2014-04
 (8) Volcano Location:N 52 deg 33 min E 158 deg 1 min
 (9) Area:Kamchatka, Russia
(10) Summit Elevation:5995.84 ft (1828 m)
(11) Volcanic Activity Summary:Activity of Gorely volcano decreased significantly on December, 2013. Volcanic tremor is not registering from December 12, 2013. A temperature of thermal anomaly decreased to minus from December 12-15, 2013. A thermal anomaly was not detecting over the volcano in January 2014. But weak seismic activity of Gorely volcano continues because it is the active volcano. Video data showed a weak or moderate gas-steam activity of the volcano.

Aerosol and gas-steam plumes could affect low-flying aircraft. KVERT will continues to monitor this volcano.
(12) Volcanic cloud height:NO ASH CLOUD PRODUCED
(13) Other volcanic cloud information:NO ASH CLOUD PRODUCED
(14) Remarks:An intensification of Gorely volcano activity began in June, 2010, and it decreased significant on December, 2013.

Aviation Colour Codes

GREEN

Volcano is in normal, non-eruptive state

or, after a change from a higher level:

Volcanic activity considered to have ceased, and volcano reverted to its normal, non-eruptive state.

YELLOW

Volcano is experiencing signs of elevated unrest above known background levels.

or, after a change from higher level:

Volcanic activity has decreased significantly but continues to be closely monitored for possible renewed increase.

ORANGE

Volcano is exhibiting heightened unrest with increased likelihood of eruption.

   or,

Volcanic eruption is underway with no or minor ash emission.
[specify ash-plume height if possible]

RED

Eruption is forecast to be imminent with significant emission of ash into the atmosphere likely.

  or,

Eruption is underway with significant emission of ash into the atmosphere.
[specify ash-plume height if possible]
